Do You Need Assistance with Celebration of Life / Benevolent Funds?

Thrive2Survive proudly facilitates the Sonya Fund, which aims to assist families in Clark County with the financial burden of honoring the lives of their loved ones who tragically succumbed to addiction or homelessness.

The Sonya Fund is a heartfelt tribute to our Founder Charles’s sister, Sonya, who lost her battle with addiction. Sonya, a cherished mother of four, tragically fell victim to the ravages of addiction, all stemming from a prescription medication intended to treat a simple bunion on her toe. Her journey, which began with over-prescribed painkillers, ultimately led her down a harrowing path towards heroin addiction, where she was ensnared by the grip of this devastating substance.

Despite her unwavering determination to overcome her addiction, Sonya lost her battle to the relentless grip of drugs. Tragically, stories like Sonya's are far too common within our community, where the impact of addiction continues to claim the lives of loved ones at an alarming rate. Unfortunately, many families are unprepared for the financial demands associated with saying their final goodbyes to those they hold dear. The Sonya Fund endeavors to alleviate this financial burden by providing support for the cost of burials or celebrations of life.

The Sonya Fund operates under the auspices of Thrive2Survive, a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to serving the unhoused community in Clark County. Oversight and decision-making regarding support allocations from this fund are managed by our dedicated board of directors. Last year, we were able to extend our assistance to six families, contributing towards the costs of memorial services or burials. In the current year, we have already assisted two families and are confronted with a growing number of requests. However, the demand surpasses our current capacity.

With your invaluable financial contribution, we aspire to extend our support to an additional six families this year, ensuring that no one is left behind, and no life lost to addiction is remembered in vain. We believe that every individual, regardless of their struggles, deserves to be honored with dignity and respect, and the Sonya Fund strives to make this vision a reality.

Your generous support can profoundly impact our ability to help those in need and offer solace to families during their most challenging moments. We extend our gratitude for considering a donation to the Sonya Fund, which will enable us to continue our vital mission of providing financial assistance to grieving families.

We also put on an annual car show fundraiser to build up this fund. This year will be the third annual and will be held at Living Hope Church's big parking lot again.
